Arrived around 9pm. Standing offer is a free house cigar with your first draft of any day; the house cigar is a Nicaraguan Maduro that was very, very nice...creamy, long ash and tight smooth draw. Eric the bartender will quickly match drafts to your taste...try the Brown Maduro...yup, that's a draft beer. Extensive wine list with some very nice ports. The live music was a very capable and broadly conversant duo. You can't miss here....and take care of Eric...they don't make barkeeps like that young man any more.

Visited this place a few times now, most recently next weekend. It's a great place to grab a glass of wine, and watch the world go by. As reformed smokers, the cigars weren't bothersome. We grabbed a table near the edge. Live music was good and it had a great atmosphere. It had a way better vibe than cigar bars we've been to in Ybor. Good wine/beer/cigar selection. Will be back again.

Didn't spend much time here, but reading the reviews afterward made me wish I had. I stopped in with several friends for a cigar and a couple of beers, then we headed on to our next destination. I will definitely be back!

Stogies is a must stop when visiting Old Town St. Augustine. Located next door to the Wolf's Museum of Mystery which is also a must after you leave Stogies (See Review). Back to Stogies - Right off the back they are known for their cigars and yes, you can smoke inside and out. They actually give you a free cigar with a purchase of a draft beer (However you can not take it to go as they only give the cigars lit). Either way, was a great experience with super friendly staff. The cigar was tasty, and the beer was yummy. The interior is very cigar lounge feel to it, they entire upstairs is a sitting area and bathroom. The bathroom is small allowing one person at a time so you may run into a line, but overall worth the stop here. The patrons here were calm and relaxed, perhaps a little of the older crowd 30+ but that is not exactly a bad thing. Compared to other places we went to in Old Town which were over ran by loud an obnoxiously drunk college kids Stogies offered a great relief from that chaos, and they are even tucked down a quite side street. So come and try this place out, Don't smoke or perhaps with company that does, then chill outside next to the fire pit when its lit or even when its not... their outdoor seating is just as chill as the indoor and the ambient music tops it all off.

Super great place to chill with friends while enjoying a drink and cigar. The folks that work here are able to provide individualized attention and recommendations even if the place is packed.

Even if you do not want the free cigar with your ice cold beer you will love this place. They offer quality cigars and live music...and a fantastic selection of beers. They also have a few nice wines. The outdoor seating looks out over the cobblestone streets of gorgeous Saint Augustine. It's just one street away from the old fort and the bay. It is shaded by large trees and offers a relaxing setting any time of the year. There is a big fireplace outside to enjoy in cooler weather. The inside is like an old library or study from an old house. The bartenders are friendly and helpful. Check out the upstairs as well.

I always make a stop here every time I visit St.Augustine. Great watering hole with pretty decent selection of craft brew bottles and ciders. This is a smoking bar where smoking invited and encouraged (free cigar with any draft order) A large humidor where patrons can shop stoogies. A small seating area and bar with additional seating upstairs, outside some bar tops and a few umbrella patio tables. Usually if I've been here on a Friday or Saturday eve I'd find some blues performers. Very cool place with a great relaxed ambiance. The crowd here was slightly calmer and more mature then some of the other Auggie spots we hit. Try it here!!! P.s. next door is Wolf's museum of mystery which is also a great spot! ( see my review!)

Yeah, , i could drink there 2 pm thruogh 2 am. Dont smoke but would hang out with my cigar smoking buddies. Both girls behind fhe bar were very accomodating. Perfect spot for late night drinks.

My new favorite hang out in the world! Great beers, free cigar with your 1st draft and a huge selection in the walk in humidor. Plush leather sofa's and live entertainment. Yes I could stay here awhile. Good staff and happy vacation people around you...what more could you want?

Great spot for dranks, frans, and music!

Great place to listen to fantastic music! Came here our first night and visited many other place who had great ratings but this is where we found ourselves on the second night too. The bartenders (Dave & Megan) are very friendly and welcoming. If you want a quite atmosphere you can sit outside but be fire pit.

  • Sarah P.

Warning: do not go to this bar if you can't stand smoke! If you like cigars, though, this is the best bar in St. Augustine. They have a great beer selection, a full humidor in house, good music, and a laid back cozy atmosphere. I love this place. Just don't smoke that free cigar. It's worth it to buy a nicer one.

    (5)
  • Tom B.

NIce to sit outside and shoot the bull while having a smoke. Unfortunately they pipe the music outside and it's too loud and interferes with conversation. I like cigar joints for the characters you run into, not for music.

  • Darryl S.

Spent the evening here by the fire pit hanging out, drinking beers and listening to good tunes. Good IPA selection. Bartenders were very nice! Hidden gem!

  • Christiana K.

Super knowledgeable and friendly staff with a GREAT selection of beer and cigars. The live music is usually great and the customers are laid back. There's extra upstairs seating and always a fire pit going outside. Favorite neighborhood hangout! I almost want to give it one star and a terrible review so it deters everyone else from bombarding the place. But I could never fib about such an awesome place!

  • Amanda N.

Ok how cool is 6 bucks for a beer and cigar. With your first beer purchase u get a stogie. Enjoyed a delicious coffee oatmeal stout and a cigar outside this evening. There are two locations walking around the streets in st aug. Great atmosphere and outdoor seating w wonderful music playing

  • John H.

My little secret. Great selection of beer (borders on pricy, but worth it) and cigars are well stocked. They usually have live music and it is better with downtempo bands. A must-go, 5 stars easily.

  • Chris L.

I'm from out of town and went to a few other bars, I would say that Stogies is my favorite! The crowd seems like my kind of people and it's just the right size and atmosphere. Service was friendly and they have a good selection of beer. Upstairs is nice and quaint and outside is nice for people watching; I enjoyed a nice fire too. The live music was also good. Highly recommended to any traveler or local that hasn't been.

  • Mark H.

So sad that my review for this place simply disappeared, so I don't have the details fresh in my mind. What I do remember is that this is one of the best places on the face of the planet for chillin' and smoking a cigar. Live, Jazzy music cramped into a tight corner downstairs, and a dark, sexy attic for noise-reduced smoking and chatting amongst friends. They also feature a massive humidor in the back, just incase you're not in the habit of traveling with cigars. Can't wait to get back!

  • Anthony J.

The cashier gentleman was very knowledgeable, great recommendation on the pairing of cigar and beer

    (5)
  • Charlie V.

Tucked a block or two off the beaten path, this easy-going spot has a mellow vibe that isn't forced. A beatnik crowd, great wines and brews, good cigars and not a single phone screen in sight...heaven. there's live music...even on a Monday night and conversation to be had among those at the fire pit, bar top stools or intimate wall-hugging tables for two.

  • Jane R.

My spouse and I happened to walk in here with several people last Saturday night, and a customer yells "Who are all these people that just walked in?!" The lady performing says over the mic "These are the last of the tourists until March," and everyone starts laughing. Ok... #1 more than half of the people in there are tourists. #2 I'm from Brevard County, 2 hrs away, and I come to St. Augustine A LOT, not sure if that qualifies as a normal tourist, but either way, we APPRECIATE our "tourists" that come to Cocoa Beach and Kennedy Space Center because they bring money and jobs to our county. Stogies, please remind your performer that she wouldn't have a job if it wasn't for tourism, because this "tourist" didn't purchase anything from your bar and walked out. There are plenty of other bars in St. Augustine to go to, which is exactly what we did.

  • Ophelia B.

The only cigar bar that serves coffee late at night. Popular haunt in St. Augustine. Not my favorite place, yet I gave it 4 stars for the coffee factor. Live music. Indoor smoking. A cigar smoker paradise. Supposedly haunted, Stogies is a dark semi dingy cigar bar. Classy...um not really but getting served coffee by my friend's blind date, a buff hot Danish guy, made my last time here memorable. Having a conversation and signing with some deaf guys at Stogies with a girl pal was a very entertaining and unique experience as well. Seeing them hit on my girl pal was even more funny. Will I come back to this place? I don't think so, unless I am dying for a hot cup of coffee late at night and happen to be near this place. You must visit this place once though. :)

  • Greg H.

Hung out here last night when looking for a good beer and a cigar with some friends. It was fantastic, in an era of "trying to hard to be cool" places, Stogies was a breath of fresh air. It was unassuming cigar and jazz vibe, softly lit with leather couches, good beer at good prices and a solid selection of cigars means... I will be back and you should go.

  • Gloria S.

Very small, 2 story, but the Jazz Trio that plays here is worth the cramp and kind of adds to the living room atmosphere. Get there early for a seat. Cigar selection is limited, beers are not. Not the friendliest staff but its almost like they don't have to be. Indoor and outdoor seating. I would return to St Aug, just for another hit of this place, night of sophisticated music and intelligent stranger conversations.

  • Nic R.

My new fav night time hangout. Fire pit out front, good live music, beer and cigars...and let's not mention the amazing people watching. People of all ages and looks in the place.

    (5)
  • Lindsay L.

Here's what you should know: Awesome music, awesome wine selection, awesome atmosphere. It's a fun, relaxed place for grown-ups and a nice place to hide from the tourism mania that seems to be plaguing St Aug these days. Go.

  • Zac A.

THE go-to place for a night-out to chill and smoke a cigar in St Augustine. I own a Stogies growler, which I get refilled each time I go, instead of buying 4 separate beers. It's a fun and interesting money-saver. There's usually something new on tap, and a fine selection of bottled beer, as well. Coming out of the door of Stogies each night is some quality, simple, live music. The outdoor seating, especially if you get a seat close to the door, is perfect.

  • Josh J.

Great place to chill and have a good cold beer and cigar. They have many many different beers to try. Great live music. If jack is your bartender tip him good he will take care of you. Rocketsauce

This is the perfect Saturday night spot for the drinker/smoker/bar scene/crowded house party type...I am absolutely none of the above. The only reason I came here is because of the live music and that almost wasn't a strong enough component in the beginning...but the band that played there by the name of Three (I'm guessing they are local) was worth every second and many more future visits! Stogie's has 2 levels and outside seating and reminds me of what a perfect Man Cave would look like. It's essentially a living room full of chairs/couches, a bar in the far corner and a cigar room in the back. The band is pressed against the wall in the front of the room (you nearly trip over them when you walk into the door) and there are a couple of TVs strategically placed so that you can watch whatever is on in between sets. The initial turn off (in my opinion) was that most of the people inside were smoking regular cigarettes, which stank up to high heaven, despite the ceiling fans. All the ones smoking the aromatic cigars were sitting outside...call me crazy, but smoke the smell-goods inside and leave the stinkies out in the street. I bought a "beginners" vanilla flavored cigar which was (other than the accompanying headache) very smooth, tasty and helped block out the stink of Marlboros and Newports. The customer service was on point: they lit and trimmed my cigar for me and was still very hospitable despite the thick crowd of people all shouting their orders. Kudos for attention to details. Anyway, despite it not really being my kind of atmosphere, it all changed when the music got going. I lost myself in the band losing themselves in their music! And the small setting was absolutely perfect for the sound and visual. It didn't hurt that 3 out of the 4 musicians were VERY easy on the eyes! *blush* Everything they played was mainstream music (except a couple of hilarious originals) and Three added their own delicious twists to all of them; by the end of the night, I liked their versions better :-) All in all, this place is a decent hang out spot, even if you are like me and are more interested in the live music then anything else they have to offer. I take away 1 star because I was expecting more of a lounge-esque atmosphere but that's more of a personal preference then anything else. I enjoyed myself :-)

Awesome place. Got a beer and house stog for low price. Get stog. Went we'll with the beer.

  • Katie M.

Loved this place! We were looking for a cool place to hang out and this did the trick. Although, it was a bit different then we expected. A jazz club it is not...the two guy band playing that night was more folky, but they were excellent! It's a small place and seemed to be a favorite of local college kids, but it has a great atmosphere. One of the bartenders helped us find cigars and get our drinks. There was no place to sit inside so we sat outside for awhile people watching. We eventually moved inside when the couch opened up and enjoyed the atmosphere a lot better. It was a great place to chill and relax...very inviting!

Great night time hang out spot! It has a very laid back environment and live music. Its kind of small but a very cool place to smoke cigars, drink wine/beer and be with friends :)

  • Joel S.

This is a great divey kind of place. the night we went, they had a 5 dollar special, which got you a draft and a house cigar. What can beat that? I wouldn't want to see the condition of this place with the lights up, but it was a great place to relax. A few leather couches and wing chairs along with two tops and a bar. Upstairs is another sitting area.Outside seating as well. There were a few checker boards around and good jazz music playing on a decent sound system. Very friendly staff. I would definetly go back if I were in the area. Probably the best time I had while in St. Augustine. As Zac said, a definite Go-To place.

  • Jim Martin M.

The new band there named 3 sucks really bad, way to loud. Can't hear yourself think and they know no real music. Just junk music. Shame this place used to be great. 3 is horrible.

Fun little spot for a brew and a cigar. Walk-in humidor, pretty good beer selection, although the draft selection is pretty small.

  • Brennan H.

Hot damn, friends, Stogies is what I came to the south for. It's been a series of steps and realizations coming to terms with being a local, but Stogies was a damned positive one. The nights around here are hot and sweaty as a fat kid on a mile run, and nothing cools them down like sitting on a yellow-lit porch with an ice cold pint, sweet burning smells of cigars in the evening air, and a jazz trio playing fuckin' HOT. Make no mistake; Stogies is a classy place, this ain't your local dive bar. And yet, the prices are reasonable, the crowd is casual, and the time to be had is chill as all hell.

  • Ayanna B.

Do you like jazz, wine and cigars? Then this is where you need to be Thursday through Saturday nights. It's a small place, so the acoustics really don't need the microphones that keep being used... but the atmosphere is cozy. Big squishy armchairs and love seats. Chess tables on the second floor. For some reason there is a bathtub in the second WC... but don't look in it! The drinks are fine, but don't ask for anything complicated. The huge wine selection and walk-in humidor should keep you sated.

Wow. I had been looking for a good cigar bar for quite some time, and thanks to my fellow Yelpers, I decided to give this one a shot. Everybody had it right. Nestled downtown near St. George Street, Stogies is located in an old house with, thankfully, nothing really around it. The bar is located downstairs, and there are lots of beers on tap, and LOTS of beers in the fridge, all of which will be served in a pint glass to your satisfaction. There is also a large wine selection and some liquors to make drinks to your liking. The bartenders are incredibly chill, listen to you intently, and make quite an effort to take care of everyone there. On most nights there is live music playing, usually jazz, and there are some comfortable couches and chairs located near the band area for you to chill and relax. There's also many places to sit upstairs, where you can meet many new friends, as I noticed many of the patrons of this place were Stogies regulars. If the evening is nice, there are plenty of places to sit outside, a few barstools and tables, and some comfortable lawn chairs spread out around a large fire pit. The walk-in humidor boasts a pretty good selection of nice cigars, and any place that sells Monte Cristo Number 2's is fantastic in my book. There was also some Romeo and Juliets, and even some local hand rolled cigars. A lot of good cigars in a wide price range, so you can definitely find SOMETHING. The bartenders will cut it and light it for you while your ordering your drink, and they know what they're doing. Just be prepared when you order your drinks, if the place is packed, it may take a little while. The bar area is not all that big, and the bartenders TAKE THEIR TIME in ensuring that everyone is given great service and exactly what they're looking for. Take a deep breath, relax, and soak in the atmosphere... Overall, this is just one amazing place... The atmosphere is incredible, so relax, laid back, chill, fun-loving, it's everything you'd want when you have a cold pint and a hot cigar. Not like other bars / clubs, where there's fights breaking out, guys acting like douches trying to pick up women, Stogies is a flat-out all-around good time. I've been here a few times and will continue to return on a weekly basis, that is for sure.

I love this place! Huge selection of beer, cigars(walk in humidor), wine and great music.... Relaxed and fun atmosphere! Lounge area inside and outside. Great place to get away from it all!!!! :)

Love, love, love Stogie's. I like to go here by myself when I have an hour or two to kill or with friends when we're looking for a place for a drink and a conversation. Not a huge jazz listener, but I like the guys and gals they have come play on the weekends. It's especially nice to sit upstairs on one of the sofas with a glass of beer and a clove or cigar and let the smooth sounds waft their way up through the square railed-off hole in the floor. They keep the old house decently chilled during the hot summer days and they also have a walk-in humidor. The tenders at the small bar are super friendly and helpful and always up for a chat when the place isn't packed. The outside tables are great when the weather's good. When I am in St. Augustine I make Stogie's my second home. Love it.

I knew it was going to be a great spot when I saw the pencil drawing of Jerry Garcia in the men's room! Everything about Stogies makes you want to slow down and enjoy good company, good conversation and possibly meet new friends. From the 75+ beers to the 100+ ports it was easy to slide into an overstuffed armchair and light up a cigar, which the bartender picked out for me, from their humidor. Stogies is an incredibly inviting spot to stop and have a cold Bell's Oberon and listen to some jazz or have a smoke and share a few laughs with good friends. I cannot wait to go back on my next visit to St. Augustine

almost hate to review stogies bc i dont want a lot of people to find out about it...its that cool. just a sweet dark little jazz bar tucked away in st augustines small little town with tons of great beers (several of draught), wine and coffee...and a great selection of cigars, GREAT deals on their own name brand. we had a few beers and a smoke while watching this great jazz trio for a few hours the other night. it was so so perfect. i love this place and will ALWAYS hit stogies up while in st augie.

Good live Jazz always, sherry/wine, good cigar collection; this place is the best place to meet nice people while relaxing on cozy couches all in about 500 sq. ft. in a 100+ year old house. Yes; you can smoke too! As always for St. Augustine parking is a major challenge.

  • Onle G.

a gem of a jazz club. great mix of woodchuck and a st.auggie stogie = blue notes @ its best. my 4 star point: the music is sometimes not straight ahead jazz. But, on a chance evening I heard and met local legend Doug Carn. Yessir! Keep up the good work, I'm a fan!
